Fluffy Mud Activity:
You will need:
A large mixing bowl
Half a box of tissues
One bar of soap
Hand hot water
Method:
Your child will be able to make this themselves with your help.
Shred the tissue into small pieces
Grate the bar of soap onto the tissue
Add some water that is hot enough to melt the soap.
Mix the soap and tissue together until it becomes wet. The more you play with the mixture the fluffier it becomes.
Ideas:
Spread the mixture onto a tray and use for making marks using different items.
Simply smooth out again using a spatula and start again.
Hide “treasure” in the mixture for your child to search for.
Just allow your children to play with the mixture making it fluffier as the soap bubbles.
Things to talk about:
Talk to you child about the texture and smell of the fluff and what it looks like.
Ask them if they like playing with it and why.
Talk about the marks the children have made in the fluff. |
