Ingredients:
1 empty plastic bottle
Vegetable Oil
Water
Food Colouring
Method:
1) Pour vegetable oil into a large plastic bottle, so that it is half full.
2) Mix water and food colouring in a jug so that you have a very bright colour
3) Add the water/colouring mixture to the vegetable oil until the plastic bottle is full.
4) Make sure the lid of the bottle is screwed on tightly.
Pick the bottle up and slowly turn it upside down. When the water mixes with the oil, you will see big bubbles of “lava” moving through the bottle.
You can make more using different colours of food colouring and different sizes and shapes of bottles.
